Having the resources to be "all things to all men" would be great for business: a team member expert in every area of IT. The reality is often far from that ideal and the sheer variety of solutions that IT can provide makes it impossible for most companies to cover everything.
But this is exactly where Killer Byte may be able to help.
If you run an IT related business you've probably given up hope of keeping up with every advance in every area of IT, but no doubt you have carved your own niche. Willingly or otherwise, you've developed your own specialisations, probably to meet the demands of your biggest (or loudest) clients.
The down side of this is that you are unable, or at least find it difficult, to offer some services in unrelated fields. If you specialise in web design you maybe have a hard time coping with hardware repairs or vice versa. There are two solutions...
- Don't offer services you can't deliver. This makes sense but it's hard to turn away a customer and the potential of future work which you may be able to handle.
- Offer the service but sub-contract the work as needed. You keep your customer, still make a bit from the job, and keep the possibility of more business in future.
There is still the danger that you could lose a certain amount of control. Most worryingly for most is the loss of control over quality and the potential for someon else to damage your business reputation.
The way forward
Our solution is to establish an IT network, a group of IT businesses who are able to offer services to each other on a more or less regular basis and allow each one to concentrate on their own specialities and spend less time worrying about what they can't do. And by working with each other regularly we learn about each other's capabilities and establish trust.

Killer Byte is fully insured for working at client's premises and we'll give you a fixed price for each job before we start. We keep extensive stocks of common spares and can generally get more exotic items next day. And now of course we're approved by Derbyshire County Council's trusted trader scheme too!
