IT in Schools & Colleges - Case Studies
Lenthall Infant & Nursery
Lenthall is a small infants school based in Dronfield, Derbyshire and presented a typical picture with a network that wasn't really a network! Although a number of workstations were wired together as a network most were still running MS Windows 95 and making absolutely no use of the network! By applying our tried and tested packages we addressed all the main issues and brought the schools ICT up to and beyond recommended levels.
Stonelow Junior
Killer-Byte has recently updated the IT suite, replacing old workstations with brand new multi-media computers and 17" TFT flat screen monitors. We also created and maintain the school website.

Hasland Infant
Hasland Infant School was one of our more challenging school projects to date. The IT Technician left abruptly and IT provision was handed over to us. Within days of this problems started to appear. Although the software and hardware was to specification there were major problems with its configuration.
We spent several weeks re-organising the network and documenting documenting procedures to keep it running smoothly. This included including reconfiguring the network server and creating a standard workstation image to provide both staff and students with a robust system that is easy to maintain and capable of changing as needed. After completing the project we were tasked with weekly maintenance - a vote of confidence that we always appreciate.
